How to Webex to a Teacher
Detailed Instructions
The school has setup links within XUNO to allow easy access to the teacher video conferencing pages.
In order to view the links you would need to login to the XUNO platform using a web browser.
A Browser looks like one of the below icons.
Any of these browsers will work with XUNO.
To access XUNO start your preferred browser and type the web address for the platform.
By now Students should be familiar with both their username and their password, as the XUNO system was used extensively during the COVID19 lock-down earlier this year.
The XUNO app does not have the “links” functionality
Once you have logged on the links option is available in the top right part of the browser window.
In clicking the link, a list of available Staff members has been prefilled with their Video Conferencing details.
To start a session with a teacher the student selects the teacher link (which tries to download a file like below) Install OR you can just “Join from your browser”.
Joining from your browser requires very little setup and time to complete.
Unless you have Webex software installed already cancel the download and use the “Join from your browser” option to launch Webex software
The Username and email need to be entered which allows the teacher to identifiy the person connecting.
For Students or Parents this is purely informational in nature as no accounts are required to login
Enter any email address or name.
Once you click next, options for Audio and Video will provide a choice for what you would like to use for speakers and cameras.
Whilst it’s preferable, it’s not necessary to have a camera or a microphone. The system can join the meeting and supply just the video or audio from the teacher, to you.
Select the big green Join meeting button which will place you into the teachers virtual class room.
Short Instructions
- Login in Xuno via a web browser
- Select the teacher to connect to from the links menu
- Use the “Join from your browser” option
- Configure your video, speaker and microphone settings
- Join the meeting
- Remember to disconnect when finished
